I was in a hurry, and I tossed my bike cover on while the pipes were really hot! It melted the material to the exhaust pipe and muffler.
What is the easiest way to remove this melted on mess. I have tried thinners, and that won't even budge it. I did read something that said to fire it up and when the pipes get hot it should come off easier. Any ideas would be appreciated! |

I've had boot heels melted to mine before - not the same material, but the process should be close.
Get 'em nice and warm. Use a wooden paint stirrer or construction shim to GENTLY scrape off as much as you can. LET THEM COOL BACK DOWN. Once they're cooled, I used some carb and choke cleaner to get the rest off. Wear gloves, don't inhale that stuff if you like your mucous membranes.
