Default !! Help Honda Shadow 1100 Dyna 3000 Questions help!!

I was going to order the Dyna 3000 CDI Ignition Honda Shadow VT1100C2 item #D3K1-2. I message the individual selling it to see if it would fit my motorcycle, a (1997 Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100C) He replied that they do not make one for my model. Although there are about 4 Dyna 3000 models for 1100 Honda Shadows all able to go back to 1997 does anyone have any input as to whether this model will fit my motorcycle.?

Item in Question

Would any of these models work on my 03' Sabre? I went to their website, and nothing for the 03' models!

Default chuck

Is that was you used in your 1998? and it works flawlessly? I have a DynoJet kit 170 and Cobra slip on exhaust just for some reference. Going to get a k&N as soon as this air filter is done. Gotta stretch that dollar in this economy.

Yes I have one on my 98.

The first one died at about 500 miles - the replacement has been going strong for quite awhile.

To be completely honest - the bang for the buck is not worth it. Does it improve things--a little - sliightly quicker starting little better mpg, but seat of your pants dyno - nothing really and for a cruiser that doesn't get raced - big overkill.

- I have no doubt a real dyno run would show some improvement, but it's nothing compared to the pipe-rejet improvements (best bang for buck).

For rideability I would do suspension upgrades long before ignition changes.

Thanks Chuck I still have doubts cause on there site that model starts at the 98's so i'm thinking my bike doesn't have a Dyna 3000 available. but I go with what you said With my jet kit and exhaust I really don't need much more. I burn all the way threw first gear can't really ask for much more on a Spirit. THanks again

If you have the 97 VT1100C five speed transmission and cable clutch then you have the EXACT same bike as the 98 VT1100C! (just a different color) in fact if you order parts on line for your bike you would do better to order for the 98 model. The reason for that is because in 97 they're is two different breeds of the bike, the late 96 models with the four speed transmission and hydrulic clutch and then the mid year change to the five speed transmission and the cable clutch. So when you look at the parts breakdown for the 97 you have a lot of double listed parts with different part numbers. So I just order from the 98 model parts list, its much easier.

Yeah the bike is in such good condition that i'm not really worried about parts. I was just wondering on the Dyna 3000, if it would work on my bike. I did get the Cable Clutch version though. Liked it alot more then the alternative. Thanks for your input.

That's why I said all parts, any parts for the 98 (if they list the Dyna 3000) for it will work on the 97, they are the same bike!
