Has anyone installed pod filters on the twin carb vt's? Or changed out carbs for the 600 single carb setup?

I am not even sure what a pod filter is, but why would you want a single carb setup? I would imagine that would kill some of your juice on the bike. I know the early 600's with the dual carbs had more hp then the newer single carb models.

They are an air filter that attach directly to the inlet of your carb. They allow you to delete the air cleaner box and plumbing. I know that they are available for the single carb 600's, and running a single carb set up for a 500 should not affect power, or even improve it, plus no carb syncs, more available parts etc.
Some help please!!

There are riders on this forum using pods with the dual-carb setup. You may have to create your own plumbling so they won't hit your legs!
http://www.hondashadow.net/forum/vie...light=carb+pod I would stay with the dual-carb setup since the drop in horsepower isn't worth it to me. Syncing the carbs is MUCH easier than you think, and is a no-brainer after you do it once. Here is the setup I use on my dual-carb vt600c utilizing a K&N pod and the top portion of the airbox. Works great and stays away from my knees!

This mod was already done to the bike when I got it but is easily (and cheaply) done. All you need is a Round Tapered Cone Filter from here
http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm and a 90° bend stainless steel braided car radiator hose (get at any speed shop) and a couple of hose clamps. You need to fabricate a frame mount out of 1/4" steel (or whatever you have laying around that will hold up the whole thing) and your in business! ![]() I will give you the diameter of the hose and K&N pod used on my '92 vt600c when I have time to take it all apart. I'm not sure if it would be the same size as yours since the diameter of the airbox hole may be different on different bikes. NOTE: The airbox hole is oblong making inserting the hose a little difficult, not too bad in my opinion since it's airtight.
