After all that, make sure you have duplicate keys, I had one made for the ignition and saddlebags, lock smith made them out of flat stock and I carry them in my wallet, it's hell to loose your key's when you are a couple hundred miles from home............

thanks for the post. I have an extra set of keys for my truck but for some reason, I never thought about taking an extra one for my bike. Thsnkd for jogging the the old grey matter.

What I have done. I took my original keys up to the locksmith, had them make a duplicate (About $5.00), then locked up one of the originals at home and hid the other (Non marked) key ON THE BIKE. Now should I lose the one original, I still have a back-up key on the bike, plus a key with the number at home.
