Default Adjusting Clutch and front Break levers

Ok let me start by saying I'm a noob (LOL) I have a 07 vlx. I've had it about a month. I took my msc and the bike I rode had a better placement of the clutch and break levers. I have to really stretch my hand to reach them on my bike.

My question is can I just loosen the screws (with an allen wrentch) move them and then tighten them back up or do I have to mess with the cables too? My husband is "pretty sure" this will work but I don't want to mess anything up

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Sure you can slide the levers around the bars. It's not going to hurt anything - there are also aftermarket levers (short reach) that are bent to make the lever reach a little closer for the finger reach challenged. Check some of the MC sites like ron ayers of dennis kirk.

Thanks, I didn't think it would hurt but wanted to make sure. I will check out the mc sites and see what I can find. Thanks again

Ok I moved my clutch and break levers now my mirrors are all messed up LOL. I think it's always that way you fix one thing to fix another , but I do have to say it's helped my shifting and breaking a lot
