Default VLX saddlebags

Hello everyone. I am attempting to buy saddlebags and get it right the first time and not have to send anything back. I have a '97 vlx 600 and I wonder what size bags I should get for it. Any help appreciated. Stay safe everyone.

Not really sure but my roomates VLX 600 doesn't have much room on his bike. So I'm assuming one of the smaller sizes. I've also heard of people relocating there Signals to fit a little bit larger bags but I don't recall what thread sorry.

I went to Jafrum.com and looked at the sizes that they have. I measured my bike and then ordered a set of PVC bags for around $75. I went PVC because they are waterproof, whereas leather is only water resistant.

Didn't have to move my turnsignals. The bags went on very easy. JN is correct in that you will end up with fairly small bags if you want to keep the bike looking in proportion. See my sig pic. If you want other pics of my bike, PM me with your email and I will send some.

Eric

My old bags wouldn't fit my roomates bike with stock lights. I upgraded from these cause they were too small but they came with the bike.

I just picked these up from Rural King for $59.99 on sale. Took them home and they fit perfect on my 83 VT 750C. I kinda got lucky, didn't take any measurements, just bought them because of the sale price. Made by HEAVY DUTY in the USA and they are leather. I fougnd the same bags here for more $$$. MODEL # 722

Default Bags

My exhaust pipe is my biggest problem. I have a 89 shadow the the bag sits right on top of the exhaust. I toasted 2 sets of bags so far. The only option is to by a small bag for the exhaust side. Turn signals aren't a problem
It is best to measure
