Default Chirping sound

This is probably normal, but I want to be sure. I have an Aero 1100, and I get this chirping sound from top end when I am giving the bike gas, Am wondering if there is a way to remove the sound.

Funny, i get a chirping sound when i am off the gas and using engine braking at lower speeds. i think mine is something vibrating but there is no way for me to pin point what it is.

Default Chirping

Two things that I can think of is checking to make sure the tank is venting properly, you may hearing air getting sucked through the gas cap. The second thing is lubing your throttle inkage and lube your throttle and speedometer cables.

Nobody can tell you for sure without hearing it but.....many bikes make a "natural" chirping noise from the carb. or throttle body air intake. It varies by model; I think my VLX does it most at moderate speed with "neutral" throttle.

I hear something similar in sound at low RPM roll on. Consider it normal shaft drive sound. It's a good sound to me.

i definitely have the shaft drive chirping sound, which i hate because it sounds like the tranny is working a little too hard. i have also heard a different chirping sound in an older bike and it was the exhaust.

When I'm riding solo it isn't an issue. But two up it definitly "tells" me it's time to downshift with it's "stuttering speech syndrone". Weird high geared tranny ratio's on this model of Shadow. 85mph in 3rd gear? Definitly get's you off "I" ramp's quickly.

chucksshadow,

There`s a couple of things that cause a "chirping" sound on the 1100 AERO`s.

Look under the bike, under the motor, and you`ll see "the dog bone". It`s called that because it`s shaped like a dogbone. Spray it down real good with with WD 40 of simular product , and the sound will go away for up to a year. You can remove it , grease it, and put it back for a longer fix.

Second, your forks can sqeak from under the fork covers. Spraying some silicone spray using the straw attachment up between the forks and the cover will help.

post this question on THE ALL AERO FORUM for more info.
