Default Brake Pads

Greetings,

I'm in the market for some new brake pads for the front.

I am seeing there is at least 2 different materials used. KEVLAR brake pads and Sintered Metal brake pads. Could someone tell me the difference, if any? Better yet, experience with either type?

You can't go wrong with the Honda pads because they are engineered for your bike. I use the Kevlar pads on my Suzuki DR650 with no problems, so I might be lucky.

I used the cheap EBC organic pads and they are very loud. I will be going back to stock.

I have heard that only the bikes with disks designed for organic brake pads can use them.

The ones you use would be Kevlar

Kevlar brake pads are good for high performance, extreme high heat applications and where maximum stopping power is concerned.

Using them on your Shadow is a waste.

Kevlar pads don't work good until the get hot.
The hotter they get, the better they work.
And once they get hot, they get VERY grabby.

They are good for racing purposes.
You can use them on the street, but they really don't work as well
as standard old semi-metallic.

As others stated, stick with the factory pads.
You'll get the best braking power and life of the stock pads.
