I know I am removing the sissy bar as soon as I get a set of saddle bags. I would like to go one step farther and remove the pavillion seat. I have the 03 VLX. Any one do this? What did you do to the left over bolt holes, etc etc?

Duh! I knew that. But thank you for pointing that out. Everyone needs to have a purpose in life. Actually I usually refer to it in other terms, but I didn't know about the profanity rules. |

I removed mine once the wife got her own bike. It will expose two bolts in the fender where the pillion mounting studs were. I just replaced them with two stainless allen head bolts. These bolts also hold the fender on the frame so you do need them in place. You might want to get the rack for secure mounting of your bags plus they make it handy if you ever need to lash something else on the bike.
