After riding my 2003 Saber for an hour or so my tempreture light will come on, flicker then go out. This cycle will repeat itself every 15 minutes or so. The fan is working, Fluid levels are fine. It has me baffeled. Do I have anything to worry about? Any information would be greatly appriciated.

Assuming that the coolant level is correct.
It could be that the temperature switch for the light is turning on at too low of a temperature. I think that all the Shadows are similar and the switch points listed in my VLX service manual state, the light should switch "ON" as the temperature exceeds 260 deg F. and switch "OFF" as the temperature drops below 252 deg F. It could be that the temperature switch for the fan is turning on at too high of a temperature. The fan should switch "ON" as the temperature exceeds 216 deg F. and it should switch back "OFF" as the temperature drops below 207 deg F. If the light comes on while you are driving then it is likely the light switch or a thermostat problem. If it only comes on when the bike is sitting and the fan is running then it could be either one of the switches or the thermostat. Does the light come on just before the fan cycles on and then it shuts off after the fan has run for a few seconds? Ride safe.

The light comes on when slowing down. On a recent long trip (that Started it all) the light would com on briefly while moving tehn go out.As soon as the fan kicks in the light flickers and the goes out. Today I put antifreeze in the radiator, and the resivor was full. After riding, the over flow worked like it is supposed to. I am assumiing that this means that I have good flow. I used a infer red temreture gauge on it today. The return line coming out of the radiator was 165 the hose coming out of the rear of the engine was above 240. Does this help any?
