Hope that title will show up if someone needs to search for this.
Long story short, my throttle was sticking. After much tinkering disassembly/reassembly scratching, crying, bleeding, etc. It ultimately boiled down to the fact that the lower throttle cable, commonly known as the push cable (Dont bother posting that technically it pulls also) was somehow causing this problem. W/O the lower cable, the throttle snapped back. With it, it wouldnt. So, I researched the cable and found that it is a failsafe for the carb return spring. Only really needed if the carb return spring failed. Many others ride w/ just the upper cable, now I do also. However, one thing I did not find was how to cover the opening left in the control housing. No one was able to source a bolt to fit the opening which, BTW is a 12mm by 1.0 thread pitch. What was finally decided on, and works, is a 7/16" chrome nut cover from Ace Hardware. All of $1.15. It fits the hole almost as well as the chrome covers on the front wheel pinch bolts. It is loose, of course, but that is where clear RTV comes in. Looks good, plus it's now waterproof.
