Huh. My wife's hot glue gun (craft stuff) says 180 degrees. With a 100 day, in an enclosed signal holder, I can see a 20W filament at a 50% duty cycle + running lamp filament raising the temperature another 80 degrees.

Between 180 and 250, one of these numbers is wrong.

I'm not talking about a craft glue gun.
I'm talking about a regular use hot glue gun.

Those craft guns are "safety guns" and are to hold flowers and junk on to styrofoam.

I'm talking about a good medium or high duty hot glue gun like you'd buy
at a tool supplier or Sears.

Here's the one I have.

Ah-ha! Mystery solved!

I've never worked much with hot glue, so the only one I've every really put my hands on is my wife's crafting glue gun. When using such a product to secure light bulbs came up, I had to say to myself "you've got to be kidding!"
