Hello all, bought my first bike, an 03 spirit 1100 four months ago from an auction, love the bike. I've been following this site since I got it and it's a great site for anything. Anyway, I lost spark to both rear plugs last week and cant seem to find the problem. I swiched plugs and that wasn't it. Had the coil checked, that didn't seem to be it. I'm kind of stumped.
P.S. I will be getting pics on here soon. promise. Thanks in advance |

How did you check the plugs for spark? On my 1997 1100 Spirit, I take one plug per cylinder and hold aginst the side of the cylinder while the engine is running. It should spark, if you take them both off at the same time, there will be no spark. If there is a spark, look for a plugged pilot jet in the carb for that cylinder.

Well if the coil is good check to see if you have power to it, if you do then check the plug wire for continuity and also look inside the plug cup to see if there is ANY discoloration, sometimes the carbon string that's in there will burn back and when it burns back far enough the gap is to big for it to jump.
