Default Battery Removal

Hi guys. I have a 2003 Shadow Spirit 750. I need to replace the battery. I got the cover off and the +- terminals disconnected. The manual says it should come out at that point but it won't. Is it connected to the housing somehow, or some trick I'm missing? Thanks

Can't help ya there but bumping this up as someone has the answer.
Mine - I have to remove the seat, lay the ECM off the top of the battery box cover, remove cover top, disconnect (+) & (-), then pull the battery straight up and out. It fits a little snug and has a little friction, but pulls free.

Some bikes have foam strips similar to weatherstripping to minimize movement and vibration of the battery. If yours has this, the battery could simply be stuck in there and will wiggle free. If you can determine that there are no wires in danger of being pulled loose, go ahead and give it a couple of quick jerks and see if it slides out. Some people even add weatherstripping as an extra precaution.

Finally got it removed, it was indeed "all in the wiggle" hehe. And jamming a screwdriver down the side of it to pry it loose from that foam backing Thanks for the input guys.
