I am at the point in my VT 700 assembly where I need to know what the setup sequence for the cam shafts is. I had it all assembled, but then I started thinking I might have it 180 out on one or more cylinders. Then a friend told me about a 'setup sequence' in order to get everything in order. Anyone have any idea what it might be?
BTW... holy crap, Clymer manuals suck! |

I'm not sure on model year revisions, but I'd think the process would be damn similar from year to year on the same base engine. Setting cam timing is something that is the same across the engine industry, however, each manufacturer or design year can do things slightly differently.
Here are two online free download manuals for you to look at and hopefully you'll find the answer in one of these. I hoping that one will describe it as well as it does for my 83 750. http://www.carlsalter.com/download.a...08046114097114 http://www.carlsalter.com/download.a...08046112100102 Hope that helps!
