Default My bike is haunted, or possessed!

I rode to a bar the other night. Wanted a microbrew real bad. ANd no, I DID only have one.

Anyway... I pulled in to park, turned the key off and the headlight stayed on... Weird... So I starts it up again, flip the headlight hi/lo switch a few times and try turning it off again... Hey, the headlight went out!

SO I goes in and has my 1 beer (honest to God, just 1). Takes me about an hour total, I walk back outside to get on the bike and the headlight is going again, with no key in the bike!

Well, I rode home, shut it off and the headlight stayed off. Well, Monday morning, my headlight hi beam goes out on my 75 mile commute at 0430... WHen I get back home that afternoon I checks the bulb and it is still good!

SO I started to remove the relays from the Gonzo Hydra Harness and the top comes off one (they remove easily). The thing was all full of rust!

That explains it! The relays were positoned top down and water got in them...

Nope, I do not have an issue with Gonzo's workmanship or materials. But keep in mind you may want to seal them relays with some silicone caulking and make sure they are right side up!

They looked to be of good quality inside, Gonz. The covers were readily removable, pretty cool, but allowed water into them. But I also had them upside down... If they were in the side cover right side up, maybe moisture wouldn't have been such an issue.

They are standard relays, so easily had... Unless the cash register system for debit/credit was down at your parts store!

Hey! John! What are you saying? We have an average 210 sunny days here where I am! LOL! In fact, I have tumblewweds to toss out this weekend that blew in last week! <hear Clint Eastwood spaghetti movie music here>

Yeap, the great eastern Washington desert!

Bu I do yearn for the Sierra forests of Grass Valley & Nevada City... The days when I rode the Rough & Ready Highway, Bitney Springs Road, McCOurtney Road, Lime Kiln Road... and the ride down to Washington off of Hwy 20....
