C2 is either an ACE or a Sabre, depending on the year. C3 is an Aero.

Thanks for the reply Adlow,
The year is 1999. Just imported from USA. Made in USA on back of seat but not an ACE. Have not purchased yet but it is being sold as a VT1100 Spirit.
So is this bike either a Sabre or an Aero, Sorry for sounding so dumb on this.

1999 VT110C2 is an ACE. (2000 and beyond is Sabre.) Picture below -- but they did come in solid colors and can, of course, be re-painted. The only place they say ACE (actually, American Classic Edition) is the chrome-plated-plastic badge on either side of the fuel tank -- and those can be removed easily enough.

Got the VIN number?

Look at the rear fender, if it has a bobbed fender ( with the tail light below the fender) it is a VT1100C. That would be a Spirit. It should also say on the VIN tag if it is a VT1100C2 or VT1100C3. Only the VT1100C Spirit has the bobbed rear fender and rear drum brakes, the others have full rear fenders and rear disc brakes.

If you're going to use a visual check to figure it out, this is a handy tool -- but you can only compare 2 at a time.
