So I am in the process of restoring my 83 VT750. My horn "did" work until my 4 year old got push happy and it stopped all the sudden. I figured it was something simple, so I took the switch mount apart and pulled out the horn button. If i touch the 2 wires together, the horn works fine, however pushing the button has no effect. It appears that the middle of the button has a metal peice in it which when pressed down contacts the middle touch and the spring around the outside provides the other contact. Anyway, I cleaned up all the metal using gasoline (i know...its the only "cleaning agent" i had handy), but when I put it back together the button still had no effect. Am I missing something??
