There are riders on this forum using pods with the dual-carb setup. You may have to create your own plumbling so they won't hit your legs!

I would stay with the dual-carb setup since the drop in horsepower isn't worth it to me. Syncing the carbs is MUCH easier than you think, and is a no-brainer after you do it once.
Here is the setup I use on my dual-carb vt600c utilizing a K&N pod and the top portion of the airbox. Works great and stays away from my knees!
