well, I got 320 miles left to reach the magic 7,500 miles. Hope I don't really need this damn sticker.

bikerchick,
did you by chance look under the tank? Looking at this diagram........ OEM Parts Honda SHADOW VLX DELUXE (VT600CD) 2004 CAUTION LABELS - Cheap Cycle Parts Look at label #2, I know it says High Altitude but with what looks like a Honda emblem on the right side of it, it looks like the emblem that is on the side cover of my '97. Maybe they moved it?? Ed

Bikerchick,
I looked in the shop manual which states the following: "After '99: An Emission Control Information Label is located on the frame. The fuel tank must be removed to read it."

I bought a bike in Utah with 6100 miles on it, by the time I got it to the DMV here in Sacramento,CA it had 7900 miles. No Emission Label, all they did was check to make sure it was not stolen and gave me my registration. That 7500 miles is the magic number.

Cal DMV is a wonderful state agency. One of the more messed up in a state of messed up in a state of messed up state agencys. Stick with it. It will get sorted out someday. Good luck.

Bikerchick - just wait until it has more than 7500, and it will get passed without any need to look at stickers...
I had bought a 2003 Kawasaki from Washington, and it had 2000 miles on it. I looked on Craigslist for someone with a Ninja that had over 10K miles on it, and asked to rent their speedo from them for a day for $40. Took the bike to DMV, they looked at it, checked the mileage and sent me on my way. Went home, put the original speedo back on and returned the one I rented. If you were any closer to me, I'd be happy to lend you my speedo, which has 50K on it! They wont even blink!
