New rider in SoCal
Hello. I've just recently purchased an 02' Shadow ACE 750, and interested in where people ride and possibly join a group ride. I've never done one and I've been riding solo since I got my bike. I usually just map spot a route and go with it and take my phone with google maps for minor corrections.

It would be fun to put together a big group ride. That always seems to be a monumental task however. We ride with the Patriot Guard, but that's about the only group riding we've been able to accomplish. If you can put something together, I would be interested.

I've put together a ride this Sunday, Aug 26th. So far we have about 4-5 riders.
This is a cruise along Angeles Crest Highway (route 2), stopping by Newcombs, then heading further to Wrightwood for a lunch, then we'll meander back to LA LA Land any route we choose, probably mostly back along the 2. We will also meet up with anyone else at the gas station, where we'll top em off, right at the beginning of route 2 (by the I-210 exit). So, I see a couple of y'all are coming from the Encinitas/San Diego area, but that should be doable if you leave a couple hours early. We're not early birds, so we'll probably make the gas station around 10-11 a.m. If anyone is interested, PM me your email address and I'll add you to the thread. Ride safe! /k

Sounds like a so-cal group ride is in order. I live in the Bay Area (near oakland) but I also have a place in Anaheim. I ride my shadow to and from la to the bay all the time and would love to go on a ride next time I get back down there. So who knows the area?
