In PA I took 14 to 51 thru new brighton, then back to hit route 7 down thru rogers. once in WV I met up with a buddy and we cruised the river down route 2 towards wheeling, then jumped across to ohio and came back 7 thru empire.

I run 7&11 quite often in the truck,as a matter of fact i'll run 7 tommorrow to Pomeroy then across 32 a ways then down to the Ohio & kentucky border,up thru Cincy to Dayton then Wapakoneta and up towards Toledo
before comming home Wed. Ohio is a pretty big state,i used to run Wv,but not lately,i don't miss a couple of those mountians and curves on rt 50 east of Clarksburg.
Looking forward to riding with some Ohioans, this
year, also up to Canada for the Canadian HS.net rally.

Pomeroy! I grew up north of there in a town called nelsonville. It's all good riding down there. I used to run route 33 from lancaster thru logan, nelsonville, athens, and pomeroy on my old kaw. LTD. Ever been on 550? One hell of a road.

This thread is bringing back memories from a couple of fronts.

1. Re Ohio Valley biking: my last long trip from last year was down to Wheeling via Massillon, New Philly & Cadiz via the 250 road. One thing I love about the Valley is its share of twisties, especially on the 250, but also on other side roads in the area, once you get +- 5 miles from the River. And when I'm done giving my money away to Wheeling Downs or Mountaineer, anything I have left goes to Cabela's. And I've yet to meet an unpleasant person in the area.

2. Pomeroy is close to another one of my old stomping grounds, a little cubbyhole across the river in WV called Cottageville. Only lived there for a few months (I think I was 5 @ the time), but had fond memories of good food @ nearby Ripley. Visited the area a couple years ago (Bob Evans Farms, Hocking Hills, etc.). Haven't biked there yet but want to sometime this year, now that wife can ride for longer periods @ a go.

Also looking forward (hopefully) to seeing area riders on way to NF Canada Rally.

Ah hocking hills... My wife and I take a yearly trip down to ride thru old man's cave state park in the fall. I lived smack in the middle of wayne national forest and the riding is sweet. I'd move back in a heartbeat if I could find a well paying job there, which is few and far between.

I love Hocking Hills! What a great place to ride, the best in Ohio IMHO.

Wife and I go down almost every summer and stay in a cabin ~~ She lounges in the hot tub reading books all week while I spend the days tearing up the roads. Going back this year in July...

Lord, I can't wait!

Damn you guys are making an old guy homesick. I was born in Steubenville and lived about 12 yrs in Wheeling. Whoever said Wheeling was a nice place to visit should live there. Wheeling has everything but work.

I was in Stubenville,Cambridge and Zanesville,last week,yesterday i went
down rt 7 to pomerroy then ironton (it was 86 deg) and up to pebbles and
over to Cincy,it was still shirt weather tis morning. at 7-mile, But by the time i got to Wapakoneta,it felt like the 30's. Tommorrow we'll do the Cleveland area and toward Vermillion.
Ohio has some of the best secondary roads, i ever seen, atleast in the central part of the state. Great for riding.
