Houston we have a problem

This Saturday we will ride from Navasota to Houston to visit the USS Texas. Now I have been told that 290-E to 610 North -( East Bound ) is under construction..... detour as MAJOR back up there.

I was wondering if someone who lives in Houston could suggest an alternate route. It will be fairly early on a Saturday morning so I’m hoping that traffic will be lighter than the normal weekday jam.
It’s kind of important that we pass through Prairie View and Pasadena because we need some pictures for a video we are doing.
I’d be most grateful for any help.
