Oh yeah. Getting into the right time to go enjoy the Hill Country. One of the few things I miss having moved from the SA area last month is all the many country roads once you head West and Northwest of SA. I lived in Castroville and it was an nice ride up to Bandera and out, or up the back side of Hondo to Tarpley and beyond.
I love cooler weather and fall especially. So naturally I end up back in SATX for 16 years, then instead of heading for the mountains of Montana like I wanted, we end up going further Southwest to Del Rio. I actually like Del Rio, but there aren't a lot of quick access, paved back roads crisscrossing the area like where I just came from, so a short, after dinner ride pretty much covers the same road or two. With cooler weather coming on I hope to spend some weekdays taking long rides into the Hill Country and the Three Sisters area, but coming in and branching out from this side of things this time instead of from the East. Then again, there are some new stretches of West Texas I need to go explore as well. Time to finally start dragging the camera along.
