My apologies for just fading out in to the background... I lost internet at my house... I have dial up and its gotten too cumbersome to try to post from a dial up connection.

Secondly... I have been on four wheels for the last six weeks. I have had tech problems with my honda AND my yamaha. The yamaha needs a mechanical seal for the waterpump and a new one-way starter clutch. The shadow needed a new rectifier and a new stator. What a difference with the "repaired" electrical on the bike. I just got it back this past week and put about 200 miles on it. What a difference! Unfortunately I will not be making any of the Lowell bike nights this year... work schedule will not allow for it for the time being. I apologize for those who might have gotten all excited for a meet and greet. BUT... this will allow us to plan something formal and maybe even get it advertised by the Lowell folks for next year.

Hope everyone is well and keep the shiny side up...

The Rev

Does anyone know of any Biker Friendly inns near Mt Washington? A friend of mine said there was a "nice inn" that advertised being biker friendly when he was in that area a few years back. We tried googling inns but nothing that seemed to ring a bell with him.

If anyone has any suggestions, a few of us are planning to take a ride into the white mountains for a long weekend in may or june and we are trying to find a place to stay. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if you know about this site, I believe Thornton is in the area.
BIKE STAY USA: Motorcycle Friendly Accommodation in the United States of America, bike-stay.net
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link! I will check this out and see what I can find.

To Crazy Dave's point, I know most places are biker-friendly in NH, I would like someone that caters to the biker lifestyle, not just a sign that says bikes welcome.

Thanks for the input to both of you.

Anyone planning on heading to the Lowell Bike Night anytime soon? I am conflicted trying to decide which bike to bring. My Honda is more of a show piece, but the Yamaha is a fun ride and goes way faster and is way more maneuverable.

Anyhow, I see my tuesday night schedule changing some during the month of july. Is anyone planning on going or attending weekly?

Its that time again... time to start thinking about twisting the throttle and blasting to points unknown...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a "first ride" for the season or know of any big season opening events?

The winter bike show at the Eastern States Exposition is the 18-20 in west springfield MA. Historically this show has been a disappointment after its first two years. It was nothing more than a catalog parts vendor show to clear their overstock stuff the last two years I have gone. There was little for swap and sell, the bike corral was pretty lame. There were some nice customs, but only a handful of bikes were really show quality.

If you are in the market to buy a new bike, most major dealers are represented, along with a few of the custom bike builders. The entertainment was ok, but it seemed that during prime time on saturday and sunday, there was little scheduled. The big deal was the cover band on friday night.

What else is going on that you know about?

Thanks for the great thread guys. For the past 5 years I have passed Route 167 on my way to my seasonal campsite and have never been down that road. I've been looking for places to ride and it's great to see one that close. Sounds like a great ride for the bike or wife's Honda S2000 Roadster.
Just another reason to look forward to summer. Keep up the informative posts and hopefully we will meet on the road.
