I posted this thread in General Discussion earlier. In it, there's some nice pictures between Plymouth, MA and Tiverton, RI. Any other places to see in this area that you all know of? I'm getting a little more comfortable on two wheels and would like to check out some new places, but still not too far off.

Since I only live a bout 35 0r 40min from Westerly RI you would think I would know where Tiverton is, I mean come on, RI is only like, what, 37ft long. only kidding I love Rode Island, I mean how many states can make Connecticut look big. Really can't be of much help, don't really ride the shore line much anymore. Once a year still hit burlingame, get happy, and loud, and keep our poor camping neighbors up till 5:00 am, then do the obligatory beach run (talk about being invisible, did you know that "20yr old girls in bikinis can not see a guy who is 50+ even when sitting on a purple motorcycle", yep, if you held a open book behind your back, they could read it), but that's it haven't been up to Plymouth since .. well.. Since last time I went whale watching, I guess, and I didn't ride My bike . So thanks for the ride ideas, my wife really liked Plymouth and I'm sure she would luv to take that ride... please tell me that that dumb Indian Village in no longer there, don't know if I could do it again sheeze Women |

If your as far as Tiverton, head on down to Newport. Ride Ocean Drive, check out the mansions on Bellview. Lots to see and places for lunch, shopping whatever. One of my favorite army/navy stores is in newport.

I with Gargoyle on cruising Newport....but only in the off season. Traffic down there bites the big one. I usually take 138 down and back. 114 has a stupid number of traffic lights and I always seem to get stuck at all of them.
As for the Bristol/Tiverton area, well lots of good riding down there. The view off of the Mount Hope bridge is awesome. One of the weekends in September is the annual "Longest Century in the East" bicycle ride and that is something you would probably want to avoid, however, they do have a very nice route marked on the pavement. I have it mapped out in MS Streets and trips but all you really have to look for is a symbol that looks like this "O->" the arrows will point the way to go. be advised, there aren't too many gas stations on the route so be sure to gas up before you leave Tiverton.
