Default Going riding Tue Sep 23rd

I am taking the day off. We are leaving the Wallingford area around 11:30 am. My friend said we are headed to "the hills" wherever that is....

We left wallingford, and headed into Durham on CT 68. Left Durham on CT 79, then onto CT 148, then CT 154, CT 82 over to Gillette Castle.

On the way back, we took the ferry over to get back on CT 148. We were on there for a bit, but then followed My friend's riding buddy (who had more local knowledge) and went on some twisty more "local" roads. I am not sure WHERE we went, but we ended up back in Durham on CT 17 one intersectioin north of the CT 68 junction.

There are some great twistys on CT 148. I was following my friend who was riding a 06 HD Ultra Classic. I kept telling myself "If his bike can take the corner, so can yours". His riding buddy was on a 07 V-Star 1100.

I never really came out of 3rd gear except for stop signs. You can't really get into 4th unless you are over 55 on a flat road. 3rd seems to be really great for anything between 35-65.

Be careful when some folks in the group are pushing it faster than you want to go, sometimes it makes sense to go at your own pace and stay safe.
