I think I finally cracked the code. They said it would work in your pocket. Maybe half the time.
Anyway, I asked the guys at Razee Honda, and they said stick it on your windshield or tank bag, facing tape-side toward the detector. Orientation is important. The transponder is polarized. The really touchy part is to go thru slowly. When my front wheel is even with the camera, slow way down and walk it thru. The message board will wink at you when your ride is detected, then wink again, and raise the bar when your transponder is interrogated. I may try it in a jacket pocket (oriented properly), and concentrate on going thru slowly. In the mean time, it looks like the transponder is secure with just the break-away tape they supply. I just have to remember to remove it before I park it.

I just returned from a NY tour using the Fastlane transponder as needed.
I keep mine in the jacket pocket, oriented the same as if mounted in the cage. It does work, but as mentioned, the key is to go as slow as possible through the gate. A few times, I was just about to put my foot down for a stop when the light finally went green. I don't mind going slower, it is much better overall than taking tickets and digging for change. |
