Default Stuck in Skowhegan

Hi folks...

I just set out on a 2 week ride down to the Blue Ridge from Halifax Nova Scotia. I am riding a 98 Spirit VT1100C. I arrived in Skowhegan on Saturday afternoon, in driving rain and Sunday morning, my bike refused to start. With a meter and some odd tools, I have determined that the battery is not charging when the bike is running. The battery will take a charge on an external charger and its a new battery (4 days old). If I charge the battery, the bike will run - for a while - then it will quit as soon as the voltage drops - say when the fan kicks in.

My problem is where can I get my bike to where I can get some service and that likely may have parts? I think I need a rectifier - hopefully not a stator. Can anyone make any suggestions. I am really stuck here.

Frazer.

(207) 487-6900
Canaan Rd/US-2
27.4 mi from Skowhegan

Honda Suzuki World

Hopefully they can help you out. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the leads. I checked these two places out without much luck. Neither place seemed to eager to see my bike. Eventually, I got my bike to North Country Honda (and Harley Davidson) in Augusta partly riding until it died again and then for the rest of the way on the back of a towing company's trailer. The guys at North Country have been great so far and I am awaiting a new stator and regulator/rectifier, which should be here today. With luck, I will be back on the road this afternoon.

cheers,
Frazer

Glad to hear that things are looking better, sounds like the bike is in capable hands.

You'll have a great ride and lots of good memories ahead of you soon. In the meantime, you get to spend time in 'Vacationland'. Did you try any of their onion rings yet?
