I hope you saved the side covers, they are almost impossible to find. I just drove 135 miles for a pile of Ascot parts, including both side covers, just so I can finish my basket-case Ascot. There are a lot of parts that are VT Ascot-only parts, that also aren't shared even with the FT (single cylinder) model. They are pretty cool and unique bikes tho, can't wait to get this one put back together.

trying to stay current with this forum, going to bookmark it so i dont forget about yall.
I put shadow shocks on because i liked the chrome over my rusted chipping stock ones. They were a tad bit longer than the stock ones but dont seem to have any problems. As of now the bike is sitting with a dead cylinder. One of my CDI boxes got full of water from rain and has stopped working. After my accident my exhaust got all muffed up, i want to try and put stock shadow exhaust on it, I think that would look good. I really want to find a parts bike but old bikes like these aren't very common in the south for some reason. I only found two at a salvage yard, and i dont think he will let me buy the whole thing, for a fair price. But soon im getting monies from insurance, decided to keep my bike and take 700 over 1100 for them to buy it. though 1100 is way more than what its worth, its not worth the value i have in it. Plus its the only ascot in this state and those around it. Even though for its current state people show much interest in it. Soon though once I have the monies Ill be tearing it down and rebuilding it, i want a fresh engine. |
