Talking Learning my VT500

Hey Everyone,

Justice here... this marks the beginning of my second week as a full-fledged rider. Getting used to my Shadow VT500. Learned on a Rebel so adjusting to the bigger bike is a fun experience. Apparently however, I've been shifting early (4k - 5k rpms) until today. I really hadn't noticed that it redlines at 9k. Makes the ride a whole different experience.

Hey Welcome! Do you actually have a tachometer? I have a 750 Spirit and the only thing I have is a speedometer.

Yup. The VT500 has a speedometer and a tach. I'm actually glad for it cause as a noob, it's handy to get to know a shifter with visual aids instead of just having to listen for it.

Welcome I kind of down sized from my wing which I still have to a 2000 600 DLX alot differant but fun to ride. I wanted something smaller to ride in town or for short rides. The wing is like riding in a cadalliac, the most thing I miss is the tunes going down the road.
