Full face, 3/4, or half helmet? What say you? Have a nice half helmet that I got off Jafrum but also thinking about picking up a decent full face. Guys that I will ride with think it will be a waste of money as I will be too hot in one in the South Carolina heat. Any of you guys or gals in the Southern states wear a full face year round. Would like some opinions of other riders. Thanks.

Scorpion EXO900 Transformer Helmet
Doubles as a FullFace and a Open Face helmet. I have that and a IS-33. I love both of them. I dont think it is too hot for the Louisiana heat, but maybe I am just used to it.

#1 reason I started wearing a FF helmet... soooo tired of getting my face pelted by insects, rocks, road debris, tossed smokes, or anything else flying towards my head... |

Also wear a Nolan Trilogy, which is a bit lighter than the EXO900 and has more up front air flow. Both are really good helmets. Just make sure what ever you buy fits your type of head be it round or narrow.

I can second the Exo900. Full face mode when cold or rain in the forecast or 3/4 when it's nice out. Also have exo100 1/2 for beautiful days. Both have chatterbox kits in them so I can swap unit out between the two.

Oh, forgot to tell you what I wear...
I have a Raider Snell #26, and have a Scorpion EXO400... picked up both on sale for less than the price of one @ retail In Kentucky, you get heat AND humidity... just like the lower states, and can be miserable... but a good FF helmet, with decent ventilation, and you don't really notice it that bad... no more than a 3/4 in my opinion. |
