Hey all. For the last couple weeks I have been reading through a large chunk of the threads on this site. There is some great info... Some good jokes... And some crap... But what can you expect right? Haha

Why am I here....

To start with I picking up a black 03 750 ACE, all original, and in great condition this week. Grabbed it for 2.5k.. Low miles, all stock, nealry perfect... I thought it was a good price. Im looking to do the usual mods, add some chrome, and at least a couple nasty skulls...

I had not rode in a while, not since college and high school. A good friend of mine died 5 years ago just before his birthday on his triumph (lady not paying attention in a minivan). For his anniversary I thought I would pay my respects to stepping out and actually buying my own ride.... And may add a new tat as well. I figured this would be a good place to learn, chat, and share some stories.

Background....

I went from being in a bad place in my teens (drugs, crime, and violence) to the Marine Corp Infantry (alcohol, strippers, and guns) and back to the beginning (more drugs, alcohol, sex, violence).... Until one day I put a gun to my head... Luckily an outside force stepped in and stopped me. I choose to call it God, you may not... But that's ok.

I am now married, have two beautiful kids (girl named Marik, and boy named Kai), working on my 2nd Master's degree, and am primarily a stay at home dad since the work market sucks.... Most of my extra time is spent with my church youth group trying to stop those kids from making the same mistakes as I.

I am pretty good with a wrench... Turning it and using it as a club. Rght now ive been remodeling my house, but I spent some time building a few Hondas that raced at mid Ohio in the Honda challenge and I've rebuilt two old Jeep CJs... One is raced in mud drags now, and the other was a built as a street cruiser. I'm pretty good with most aspects of a car, decent fab skills, but carbs are not my strong point so I may have some questions there.

Pictures will come soon... May just wait till I pick up the bike... Wednesday I'm thinking.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to here you pulled through your hard times. Plenty to live for that for sure.

welcome hopefully to an enjoyable ride.
You may want do do some internet searches for christian bike clubs around your area.
You may find a number of people coming from the same places you were in.
Bound to be near you no matter where you live.
Also a few ex military bike groups as well.

Ed-ramsay, that's a pretty good idea. I will have to ask around a bit.
-- it's either that or breakout the SOA gear and the AK... Haha.
