Fun fact to know and tell:
The Eisenhower interstate system requires that one mile in every five must be straight. These straight sections are usable as airstrips in times of war or other emergencies. ...so if you've ever thought that riding through Wyoming or Kansas was long, flat and straight - for nothing but accelerating - now you know why... |

That is an urban legend. Interstate Highways were not designed to serve as airstrips.
