Default Used bike prices - 3rd post

It's amazing how people price used bikes. Private sellers expect to get high retail. I see a lot of local bikes listed around 4k that should be in the 2500 to 3k range. Does everybody else see the same thing?

This is (approaching) the worst time to buy a bike.

The warmer the weather, the more expensive the bike.

I picked up my latest ride for literally a 'song' (well, maybe two songs) because I bought in the middle of a winter snowstorm.

Personally I wouldn't even consider (unless I had ((really)) deep pockets) purchasing a bike in the warmer months. Definitely a sellers market.

But there's always deals to be had. Just might take a little longer.

That's a very good point. I'm going to take my time and find something that I like for a good price.

Bought mine in the middle of January in northeastern NY, very cold. I feel i got a good price and she fits like a good pair of gloves.

Just have to shop around and wait for that good deal.

Best time is in the fall, people realize they don't have any room to store their summer impulse purchases and want to unload them before the snow flies..

It may be the season for sellers, but my local Craigslist is flooded because of it, so I've seen a lot of good deals out there along with the overpriced - just have to keep digging.
