As a new member it may very well seem like a hassle but as new member you have no idea how frequently this board was deluged by spammers on a daily basis, both human and non human. This three thread approval method has proven the most effective at stopping spammers cold.

This wasn't some thing that was crammed down the member's throats. After being deluged by spammers on the site a discussion was began on stopping them. This was one of the ways to prevent this. Members were asked what would be a reasonable number of posts required before you are allowed full access. The three post rule was the result.
