Default 2nd post Wraped exhaust What do you think?

Just Wrapped my Cobras, Just curious on what you guys think? AND do these engines have Exhaust Gaskets? When I pulled the Pipes off I didnt find Gaskets. Ive Owned a 79 Ironhead sportster, It had a completely different style exhaust but didnt have Gaskets so.... Im curious if i should have them or not.

I love the wrapped look. A lot of people on here seem to disagree with me. I've heard it destroys pipes after about 2-3 years though.

Yes, there is a crush gasket. It gets crushed when you put the exhaust on so when you take them off it's really hard to identify because it's covered in carbon and blends in. Use a dental pick or small flat-head to pry at the carbon and it'll pop up. Some have had it stuck to the exhaust they removed as well.

You can get new gaskets at a Honda dealer...or probably online.

Personally not a fan of the wrapped exhaust look; however, each unto his/her own and if it fits your style...that's all that matters. No exhaust gasket? Should have been there somewhere.

I think the wrap looks great, not for every bike or every person, but it looks good on your bike, beautifully done as well.

Does the wrap serve a purpose other then looks and protection? How much does it really protect?

Looks nice, but reminds me of my mother with her leg warmers on. LOL. Job looks neat and clean, just not my taste. However nice work.

Looks great but you need to add another silver band on the bottom one or take one off the top. Course that's just my opinion. Looks good.

Looks good, and your boot will STILL melt if it rests on the pipe. (I have some Nikes I can show you, lol)

My wife said the same, "looks like leg warmers" when I did mine, but she still rides on it with me so that's what counts.

Nice job...i like it. Things will still ment as others have noted. I just melted the great resistant part of my rain suit on this weeks road trip.
