Hi all,
New to the forum. My dad gave me his old bike and I am working on getting it running. It is a 1986 vt1100 that he purchased new. I am getting it all cleaned up. Just waiting on a battery to see if it runs.I have changed all the fluids and drained the gas. It sat for about 2 years with out running. My plan is new gas with sea foam in it to help with gunk that is probably in the carbs. Any other suggestions? I will try to get some pic's soon. BTW lots of good info on here. |

Those old bike are awesome! i have an 83 honda shadow 750.
The project right now though is to find out why it's not cycling coolant properly. haha got the whole engine off right now and i will be going through the carbs and upgrading the jet to handle slash pipes and k&n air flow. I'll check back with you and look forward to seeing pics! Welcome again and good luck on the build! I have riding around fort collins with my shadow. i live in mn though but i go out there to visit my buddy. the last pic on right is up in horse tooth canyon Colorado. |

After two years I wouldn't rely on just seafood to do the job. U have a great bike so you should just pull the carbs and make sure they are good and clean. Congrats on the bike.post pictures when you get a chance.
