My name is Craig and I live in Capitola Village. I'm 55 and have been riding since I was 6. At the present time, I ride a VStrom 650 day in and day out commuting to work. It's a great bike that is good at most everything.

In the past, I owned an 90s Shadow Spirit VT1100c. I'm a tall person and found the Apes to be quite comfortable. Recently, I picked up a Shadow Spirit VT1100c that looks like it was ridden through a cow pasture. Under the cow patties I've found a pretty clean bike. I do have a plugged high speed jet and a noisy tappet I need to work on. The Spirit has a lot of character. It brings a smile to my face. THis is a rare situation having ridden for so many years.

If you've dealt with the noisy tappets or carbs, and have any advise on this, I would appreciate your comments. Craig

Welcome, mlr and I aren't too far from you. We've actually wanted to hit up Santa Cruz on the bikes. We'll hit you up if we head down there!
