Hi there,
Been "lurking" the forum for a bit now, with pretty good success finding solutions for some basic bike problems. With the recent addition of a second honda shadow to the garage, and a long winter approaching, I figured I best sign-up and introduce myself. ha. Have a 1984 750 (chrome), and a 1986 vt1100 (black). The 84 has finally started acting funny, so I'll be bumming around here over the next little bit trying to find some good advice / help. cheers! —josh |

Thanks alot guys. After the short time since registering, I see there are a LOT of new members. The 3 Post rule starts to make a bit more sense. And yes, definitely have a soft spot for the older machines. Have another 92 yamaha virago. and have had (sold) 85 kawi 454, and an 83 kawi 550.
I'm having an issue with a throttle that seems to be sticking on the 84 750cc. I don't suspect it to be the cable since the throttle springs back good when at idle, but it happens more or less when shifting to high speeds. ie… stop, pulling onto highway. You let go of the throttle, pull in your clutch to shift, and rpms suddenly jump to 8000-9000rpm and hold for a few seconds. Makes the bike virtually unrideable. Any ideas? And should I post this in a new thread? |
