I am considering buying a 97' 1100 Honda Shadow with 3000 miles. Actually its a trade for my truck and he is giving me cash on top. I am not really into the cruiser style of bikes but I have heard these are great bikes and I would be willing to try it out for a month or so. I am curious though if I had to resell the bike how easy they are to sell and how sought after these bikes are. Could I get $3-$4k for a 97 shadow with 3k miles? Thanks!

I bought my 97 1100 Ace this past summer. it has 12K on it and is in superb condition. The guy wanted $2800 for it. I offered him what I had in my savings, $2,000. He respectfully declined, but didn't get any other offers. We live in a rather rural part of the county. So, long story short, he ended up selling it to me for $2k. I think I got a killer deal, and LOVE the bike for what it is. Looks like a HD but low low maintenance. Its probably worth $2500-$3000 but definitely not 4K. I highly recommend the bike. Its a lot of fun and easy to ride. One last thing, if your not into the cruiser style, they also look awesome solo when you take off the wind shield, bags, and back seat. Really easy and quick to go back and forth.
