Hello, I've been reading this site for a while. Tons of great info. I'm a sailor with the USN, and I purchased my first bike about 3 years ago: a 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre. Being stationed in San Diego for that time, it was parked outside and covered in corrosion. I am now in Knoxville, Tn and would like to restore it (it already had some rust). I need help restoring the wheels (which are some sort of solid aluminium). They are spotted white everywhere, pitted I suppose. The bottom forks also have white oxidation every where. Can some one PLEASE help me and tell me how to get these parts looking like new again? i've tried mother's and all sorts of stuff, it is going to require some heavier work. Should i have them sand blasted?
Thank you so much. I love my Honda's. After my 2nd deployment, I also picked up a 2003 Candy Apple Red 1300s VTX. Pictures to follow. |

Hey "shipmate" Since your used to polishing(can't get enough Nevr Dull) they make an Aluminum Polish(Fire dept's Use it).
Get some mag wheel cleaner/polish and get busy. Some comes of quick, others not so fast. |
