Default Those that don't have...Fabricate!!

so, i went to do the forks on my VT600...soon to be traded I hope, and found that the bottom bolt that secures the pipe seat was so tight that the seat was turning inside the tube... well there's a cool special tool that helps hold that from turning so you can break it loose, but I did not have one... oh what to do, what to do...let's make one!

1 piece of steal pipe, 1 bolt, a couple of tack welds and a pair of vise grips (for use as a handy dandy adjustable handle). Boom, insta tool!

That is a 1.5" pvc... in hind sight it would have worked better had it been longer... or had two pieces to hammer it, but this is what was hanging around and ramming it gracefully by hand worked well to to seat the guide bushing, and start the seal.

Gotta love it!! FYI, the forks were almost empty, so getting this done was a major improvement in saftey and ride quality.
Thanks for letting me share!

Nice Work ! I have done something very close to that, in the past. Instead of a bolt, I used re-bar welded to the side, on a much shorter pipe. Did the Job just fine.

Yup...it's really just to hold it from turning to bust the bottom bolt loose so you don't need alot. It was fun to make tho and will probablly be used again!
