Hello all, I'm new to this site. I just found and joined the site. My bike has been in storage for over two years and just broke it back out. I cleaned the carbs, changed the oil and fuel filter. Now I would like change/flush the coolant system. I believe I've found the main drain, but I'm having incredible trouble finding the drain bolt on the rear cylinder. Any suggestions? I assume it's of course on the rear end of the rear cylinder... but is it on the chain side or opposite side? From what my book looks to be saying, it's on the chain side. But I can't find it. Any help is appreciated!

My 06 shadow had only one drain. It was on the water pump, but it could be mistaken for the front cylinder. Per my manual, I also had to remove the radiator and reserve tank. I dropped some nuts and bolts in the reserve and shook it for about 30 minutes to break up the sediment in there.

Ya, I found the main drain on the water pump. (Still not easy to locate) But according to my little book, there's supposedly a second drain located on the rear cylinder. I'm guessing it's probably more for ensuring you get all the fluid out as opposed to most of it. Good idea on the way of knocking out the sediment!
