I find it interesting that this board requires new members to post 3 new threads to the Member Introductions discussion. Can anyone tell me what that is? I would think posting a reply to any thread within that discussion might suffice? Is it simply to ensure the newcomers get a feel for creating threads?

This is part of the anti-spam protocol in place for this forum. It weeds out both the spam bots and the real live spammers. The problem with just posting a reply in any thread is that this is often how spam bots are programmed, seek out a thread or multiple threads on a forum and post in them. This protocol has pretty well stopped the spamming on this particular forum.
