Luggage Rack

Hi All, I am new to the forum. I just started riding again after a 30 year break. I purchased a used 1996 Honda VT1100C with low miles to make sure I will enjoy it as much as I used to. So far I do!
I want to add a VIP Trunk to the bike. I will need to add at least an 8" x 8" luggage rack to mount the trunk. I have been searching for a luggage rack without the sissy bar, but no luck. Does anyone know where I can find the luggage rack that bolts on without the sissy bar? It also needs to be flat. Thanks.

Thanks. My next step was to call the local Honda dealer. I have been all over google with no success. I have not tried Dennis Kirk, so I will give it a shot tonight.
Thanks again.

Trunk

So I got my Shadow this summer and wanted a trunk too. I didnt like the looks of the ones that sat on top of the luggage rack. There are several generic options on ebay, Craigslist, or other venders. I got mine of Craigslist for $75. The only trick is that it was a 12 inch offset (wide enough to fit a harley) but the Shadows are 3 inches narrower. SO, i easily fabricated a bracket on each side out of steel that spanned the distance and width. Pretty easy to make a cardboard template and it cost me $10 in steel and a few welds and drilled holes, then painted it black to match other tank hardware. I love how it looks. Now I am going to paint it this summer to match the tank and bags.

Thanks for the suggestions and welcome. Maybe I'm being too specific and trying to find an exact fit. I have seen several, but they were not the perfect fit. I did not consider modifying one, but I will now. Thanks again.

I found what I was looking for. You can buy the back rest mounting kits, back rest, and luggage rack separately. They are available from Custom World International. I found them at MeanCycles.com. Not cheap, but if I cannot find ones close enough to modify, they will have to do. Thanks again for your suggestions.

Yep, I saw those too.....but I preferred the $10 in steel plan. I'm cheap!
