I've got maybe about 20 miles or so on bungee corded pieces of foam for me and pillion rider...I feel for you, my back feels for you, and my tail bone has started shooting pain up my back to express it's sympathy...hope the new seat comes soon!

I finally got it running good enough to do something about the ugly seat. I had the seats redone for a more streamlined look. The sissy bar was removed, but I cut the brackets so I could still mount the back seat. Stock rear turn signals were moved to the seat/back rest bracket (a bit higher than stock.) New paint for the tank and some new shadow badges. All these mods were fairly cheap, but I think you'll agree it's an improvement

The new seat is okay......but once you've had a cushion......I don't think anything else can compare.
