So I have a Cobra light bar for my 2007 Shadow 750 but have never done any sort of motorcycle work before. Should I get a 'profesional' to do it or risk screwing it up?

It depends on your wrenching comfort level and ability. I for one am very comfortable wrenching on most things so for me i'd attempt it myself. Ever since cars became so computerized i miss being able to do that type of stuff. My bike gives me the opportunity to wrench and learn, all while saving money. As a light bar doesn't seem like something that could screw up the bike (just remember how to undo everything you do just in case), i say go for it.
