VTX1300S, just bought, pulls to the left when in 1st gear, is this normal??

Nope. Look for uneven tire wear, rear wheel alignment, overall bike balance, stearing head problems, and frame damage. Edit: also could be swing arm bushings.

You could also be unconsciously leaning the bike, which would be less noticeable at speed.

Only in first Gear? How many miles on the tires? Are your handlebars aligned correctly?
