I just bought my new (to me) 2007 Shadow Spirit 750 today. I was super excited. Unfortunately, coming from a scooter background, the whole clutch and shifting thing was problematic for me. I killed it quite a few times. Once I finally got it down (just cruising around the parking lot in first gear) and was ready to take it on some smaller roads, I realized the shifter linkage came apart and I could no longer shift gears. They were closing, so now I'm waiting for them to fix it and deliver it on Monday. The anticipation is killing me!

How odd that it busted on you with it being so young of a machine... Heck, I had an 85 Rebel that didn't give me that kind of issue. Did you figure out the cause of it?

Nah, I don't know what happened. But Honda is going to fix it monday and deliver it for free. I got the extended warranty so I'm not worried too much about it. I mean it does suck, but it will work out.

The worst part is I'm getting it tomorrow and it's supposed to rain all day :/

Congrats on the bike. Your issue is not indicative of Honda reliability.
